A walk with the family

I involve my family in my practice of bushcraft as much as possible, and sometimes this just means going on walks and looking at what is around us.
This field is one of our best spots for collecting black nightshade or huckleberries later in the year.
Burdock is one of the children's favourite plants, they can all identify it without help and they play a fun game of 'burdock paintball' whenever they find  the burrs. My oldest is carrying a mink trap that we collected after a few unsuccessful days of attempted trapping.

After our walk we sat down to make coiled grass baskets to use for upcoming Easter egg hunts.
